Commisioned work for Carte Blanche,

National company of Contemporary Dance, Norway and part of the tripple bill "Birthmark".

Together with Carte Blanche’s dancers, Helgebostad & Berstad will explore, blow up a meeting, a unity, a song. With this, they want to let the complexity that is hidden at first glance emerge and unfold for the audience. With pathos and sincerity, they will attempt to reach those familiar parts of ourselves that are not often given much attention. Helgebostad & Berstad are concerned with how the performing arts can portray people in ways that challenge the apparently superior. Witnessing vacillation, pomposity, insistence and clumsiness can give us deeper insight into who we are and what we can become.

The piece premiered 30th of May 2015 in Studio Bergen and has toured widly in Norway and abroad.

Kristin Ryg Helgebostad (1984) and Ingeleiv Berstad (1983) studied choreography together at Oslo National Academy of the Arts and graduated in 2012. They have collaborated on several projects, including Jordjenta (Earth Girl) from 2013 together with Ida Wigdel. They also produce their own pieces, collaborate with other artists and perform themselves.
